Kith's Ronnie Fieg teamed up with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and for his latest New Balance collab, the 998 "Broadacre City". This is one of the more unique collab's of the year so far, and I'm personally a fan of not only the shoes, but all parties involved. Frank Lloyd Wright was one of America's most famous architects and believed in harmonious designs that provide an intersection for humanity. and the environment.
Fieg explains Wright's concept of what suburbia and community could be: “Broadacre City isn’t a city at all but a reimagining of how we could organize ourselves outside of dense urban environments; opting to live at a smaller scale among farms and forests, connecting with the land and with each other,” “Broadacre was Wright’s way to address inequality, to distribute and use resources fairly, and to be gentler on the Earth. These kind of forward-thinking ideas are what we need in today’s society more than ever.”
These will release on April 14th at KITH Tokyo and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation will have their own release on April 15th, live from Taliesin West. The shoes will finally be available for purchase online and at various KITH retailers after April 17th.
