Five Sneakers To Add To Your Rotation In 2023

Looking to up your shoe game? I've got some picks that not only look great, but will be trending in 2023 (or already are).

  • Adidas Samba

The Samba had a huge year in 2022 and shows no sign of stopping. Regarded by many as an essential shoe in their rotation, the silhouette is not only versatile but it looks good on just about everyone. The Wales Bonner Samba is particularly hot right now but don't sleep on the general releases.

  • New Balance 1906R

We all know how hot New Balance has been in recent years and while many NB models are popular right now, I think 2023 is the year for the 1906R. Over the past few years New Balance has seen overwhelming success with the 550, 2002R, and the 990 Series, and I believe the 1906R is the next model to join that lineup. A throwback to the 2000s runners NB is perhaps best known for, this model is sporty but also sleek and stylish.

  • Nike Vomero

Nike's response to the popularity of the New Balance 2002R. I've been seeing this shoe a ton recently and it's still on the rise. The nike swoosh just feels so right on a sporty shoe that could be worn casually or used as a runner.

  • Asics Gel Nimbus 9

Similar to the 1906R and Vomero, but different. Asics Sportstyle shoes are comfortable and eye-catching. I believe that Asics will be incredibly hot in 2023.

  • Asics ex89

I love this shoe. If I didn't own so many similar silhouettes I would 100% be buying a pair. They were reintroduced with a very well done Ronnie Fieg collab and Asics has dropped a few general release colorways since. With many more colorways to come, I can see this shoe stealing a lot of would be New Balance 550 or even Nike Dunk buyers.

Honorable Mention:

  • NikeCraft Tom Sachs general purpose shoe - Simple, but an instant classic

  • Salomon's particularly the xt-6 and xt-4 - this wave might be on the downswing but there's many colorways yet to be released that are extremely eye-catching

  • Reebok Club C - Timeless & accessible silhouette similar to 550, ex89, etc.

  • Stepney workers - A versatile low profile shoe

  • Not a sneaker but the Ugg tasman - The Ugg Tasman is the new Birkenstock Boston
